The Leading Senior Pro-Am Tour in the Southwest

SWSGA The Southwest Seniors Golf Association (SWSGA) was established in 1978 by Gene Lesch, Bill Johnston, and Jack Morrison. They organized a Senior Pro-Am to be played once a month in an A-B-C-D team format. Players were Senior PGA professionals and amateurs 50 years of age and older. Amateurs were awarded merchandise prizes for low net and low gross by age group, while the professionals played for cash prizes.

In 2000, the SWSGA established a Board of Directors. The Board is composed of seven members with a representative balanced between professionals and amateurs. The Board has many duties, the primary of which is to maintain the original ideals put forth by its founders.

The SWSGA typically pays approximately 50% of the starting field (team, individuals, and special prizes combined). Bobby Jones Golf Company is the official sponsor for 2011 and will provide additional prizes for the events.

SWSGA membership is open to male PGA professionals and invited pros/amateurs ages 50 and over (or who will turn 50 in the current year), with a handicap of 12 or less.

Membership dues are $125 per year and are good for 1 year from the date of joining. The tournament entry fee for members is $100, and includes cart, green fee, range balls, refreshments, and prizes for team and individual age groups. Non-members and guests may play for the same $100 entry fee, plus an additional temporary membership fee of $25 at each event.
